In 1999 I (Marcelle van der Leeuw) followed  a  course  in woodworking  in Groningen (Netherlands). At the end of this course I started working  as an apprentice in a local woodworkers shop where I  learned the tricks of the trade. Often I was given the opportunity to manufacture my own furniture. In time my designs became more and more artistic. To develop the creative side of furniture making I went to the Art Academy Artez in Zwolle. Then I bought myself a multifunctional woodworking machine and started my own company 'The Top of the Trees'. And nowadays I also design and produce wooden jewelry. See them?
