Here is a ring made out of bay wood. Two surfaces are carved on it. It is a cool ring with a sleek design. Due to the two surfaces, the special wood design comes to the fore. The size of this ring is 21 mm and can be worn by either a man or a woman.
The ring is made from a branch. You can see this because the heartwood, which is the dark wood, has only a small circular shape. Yet the branch is already a few years old, you wear quite a few annual rings on your hand :-) with this two-sided laurel ring.
Bay wood is characterized by the big difference in color between heartwood and sapwood, dark and light in color respectively. Heartwood is the innermost wood of a trunk. Sapwood, on the other hand, is the newly formed wood. That is always on the outside.
